The core facilities at MGH Pathology provide flow cytometric cell sorting and analysis, image analysis, and mass cytometry with the most sophisticated instruments currently available. There are two facility locations, one at MGH (Simches) and another at the Charlestown Navy Yard (CNY).

The Harvard Stem Cell Institute-Center for Regenerative Medicine (HSCI-CRM) Flow Cytometry Core Facility at Massachusetts General Hospital offers custom-built instrumentation for cell sorting and data analysis. The FACS Core Facility has two state of the art cell sorters FACSAria III. As much as four different cell populations can be sorted simultaneously, and cells can either be sorted onto slides, into tubes (1-15 ml) or plates (6-384 wells).In addition, we have a LSRFortessa, a NovoCyte and a Quanteon analyser which can perform multi-parameter flow cytometric analysis. FACS Core The Flow Cytometry Core (FCC) at MMRI provides instrumentation and expertise in a broad range of basic and medical science disciplines. SBP Users If you have a building 12 card key you can proceed to the flow lab on the second floor and place your samples, tube worksheet , and gating worksheet on the sample drop-off cart outside the sorting room. The FACS Core consists of four FACS analysis instruments located in Rooms 5340, 5220 and 5224, and one FACS sorter located in 5224. A summary of each piece of equipment is included here.
